If you are injured while at work, you are entitled to compensation. Workers Compensation Law, also known as On-the-Job Injury (OJI), is designated to protect employees from becoming injured while at work. In situations where the employer has unsafe practices or puts the employee in dangerous and unsafer situations, they could be entitled to a settlement if injured.

Companies are required by law to carry wooers comp insurance. Employers pay for this insurance, and shall not require the employee to contribute to the cost of compensation. Weekly benefits or medical care are paid by the employer’s insurance carrier, as required by the Workers’ Compensation Board. The Workers’ Compensation Board is a state agency that processes these claims.
